Yesterday one of my customer asked me how to install PocketExport’s android client from the installation package,the phone just complain “can not install app other than android market”.
I believe for us common users,it’s just can not avoid to install
from “other souce”:downloaded from websit or sent by Email… etc.
So,if you want,there is two ways:
One i believe is root your phone,so you have super user right to control your phone,but be careful,this sometimes means some kind of risk.
Other way:you can simply follow the instructions from the link below:

Today i will test the feature of backup sms to Gmail(will support to backup sms to other mail account as well in the future release).
And after the test,i think it’s ready to release the new version.

You can easily backup your sms to GMail.

I bought this HTC legend in apr 2010,it’s my first android phone.
In the first several month,when i show it,there is always peopele ask me:hey,is it google gX (X = 3/4/5)?

pros:
cute,great performance,lots of free games(thanks for android market)

cons:
back key is not work as expected after 1 year
battery can only last for 1 – 1.5 days,really miss my last blackberry

Now I am waiting the new nokia wp7 phone (named sea ray?),hopefully it
will give me more suprise

Just read his story when i google something else.
I feel really touched by his story,i just can not image a man
who suffering from ALS can use a morse code keyboard emulator to
fix a 9 years old gnome bug.A real passion,isn’t it.

I am busy these days on implement new features of PocketExport(android),in next release,it will support:
1.backup sms to gmail or any other mail account
2.redesigned UI

compile cxx file under android env

When i try to compile cxx file with android.mk,i got the following error
out/target/product/generic/obj/lib/crtbegin_dynamic.o: In function `_start’:
(.text+0×14): undefined reference to `main’
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

It took me nearly 3 hours to figure out what is wrong!
Android doesn’t take cxx as a extention for c++ files
Faint.
So if y need to compile your cxx files,y need to add following line
in your android.bk
LOCAL_CPP_EXTENSION:=.cxx

BTW,other kind of mistake may lead to there error as well.so it’s only a clue

Sorry that PocketExport delayed too much time,in my plan it should be released in about 5 2011,but now it is 7.13 2011:)
I just too busy these days.
Ok,let me show you what’s new in this release:
1.Now y can send sms from outlook as well(frankly speaking,it is just sent from your browser,but it is the same as sent from outlook)
2.Now y can sync your anddroid calll log to outlook as well

let me know if y have any suggestions on PocketExport for android:)
